Cand vorbim despre Gerard van Tuyl, vorbim despre maraton, porumbei de super clasa si o familie de porumbei creata in jurul lui Rodico - 1 International Barcelona 22,887 porumbei 1186 km 2006, care a devenit ulterior unul dintre cei mai buni reproducatori din Europa. Renumit pentru sosirile foarte dese in noapte ale porumbeilor acestuia, ne arata cat de ambitiosi sunt. De exemplu, la etapa Angouleme, nu mai putin de 22 de porumbei au sosit in noapte. In putinele crescatorii din Romania in care au ajuns porumbeii lui Tuyl au lasat o amprenta puterina prin urmasi lor, cel mai concludent exemplu fiind NL 1910577-2011 orig. Gerard van Tuyl care este tatal lui RO 556004-2014 - 1 National As Maraton 2017 si 556005-2014 - 2 National As Maraton Palmares 2017 din crescatoria Magirescu+Ojog+Dorneanu.
